I adore hats and love when I can find a reason to wear one. To go mad and wear fun hats like the Mad Hatter, well it can’t get better than that! I would have adored living in decades past. How precious to have a perfectly matched hat with every outfit. It is wonderful how the posh style of the British has influenced us to blend fundraising with hat fashion, while sipping tea with savories and sweets, and enjoying an afternoon with friends, all while saving the life of a child with cancer.
Kids Beating Cancer is considered one of Orlando’s most impactful, hands-on, pediatric cancer charity organizations for 23 years. Dedicated to caring for children with cancer and leukemia, as well as 80 other life threatening diseases, Kids Beating Cancer funds lifesaving programs and provides life-enhancing resources to support the financial and emotional wellbeing of children and their families during the treatment and recovery process, regardless of hospital affiliation.
Since 1992, Kids Beating Cancer has added over 38,000 new potential marrow donors to the national marrow donor registry, and has served 8,000 children, raised over 14 million dollars, with 95 percent of all donations going directly toward helping children and their families served by our mission.
If you have not had a chance to visit the new Kids Beating Cancer Pediatric Transplant Center at Florida Hospital for Children, it would be my privilege to give you a personal tour. I am proud to show off the only pediatric transplant facility in Central Florida to our supporters.
