Kids Beating Cancer, along with the support of the dedicated members of Kids Beating Cancer’s “Rose Society” hosted the Hats & Roses “La Dolce Vita” Luncheon and Fashion Show, with over 470 attendees at the beautiful 5 star Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. Through the support of this magnificent event, we will not just treat but create cures for children through innovative research that will be at the forefront of treatments anywhere in the world while caring for the children of Central Florida throughout their treatment.

Talk of the Town Restaurant Group, their patrons, and friends of Kids Beating Cancer raised a record-breaking $160,581 for Kids Beating Cancer during their March Round Up for Charity Campaign sponsored by Gearity Wellness Center. All of the Talk of the Town restaurants participated in the “Round Up for Charity” program, asking their guests to round up their checks to support Kids Beating Cancer for the sixth year
March 2024
In March, Kids Beating Cancer and AdventHealth Orlando held a ribbon-cutting ceremony for its new Cellular Therapy Facility Lab which would allow lab techs to create immunity cells as a means of destroying cancer cells. Kids Beating Cancer, donated $1.2 million toward advanced equipment that would allow the facility to take patient stem cells and develop them into cancer immunity cells. Those cells would later be transplanted into kids with cancer, and fight off cancer cells — a type of cellular therapy known as CAR-T Therapy, the only facility in the State of Florida able to do pediatric CAR-T. The new Kids Beating Cancer Cellular Therapy Facility will allow doctors and techs to begin new experimental trials by as early as next year.

The Kids Beating Cancer Hats & Heroes Ball on October 14, 2023, at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando, presented by Paradise Grills, with the incredible Venetian Masquerade themed entertainment is humbled by the kind and generous support of over 1,200 attendees, allowing this event to raise over 2 million dollars.

Kids Beating Cancer, along with the support of the Invitation Only members of Kids Beating Cancer’s “Rose Society” hosted the Hats & Roses “Royal Ascot” Luncheon and Fashion Show, with over 470 attendees at the beautiful 5 star Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort. This elegant event raised over $300,000 to support pediatric cancer research and the children and families battling cancer.

Kids Beating Cancer raised over 1.6 million at the 2022 Hats & Heroes Ball at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando on September 10th, Best of the Best, Celebrating 30 years of Kids Beating Cancer, let us entertain you with the Best of Us, while raising the critically needed funds to bring the discoveries for tomorrow’s cures while supporting the children and families. Voted Best Charity Gala in Orlando for five years in a row, this award-winning dynamic Gala evening featured an explosion of nationally acclaimed performances to entertain with the BEST of previous Hats & Heroes Ball themes – James Bond, Phantom of the Opera, the Greatest Showman, and many more while enjoying a gourmet cuisine with open bar, exquisite silent and live auctions, and the awarding of the outstanding community and pediatric medicine Healing Heroes of Excellence Awards.

With over 400 attendees at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World Resort, this fabulous event raised over $250,000 to support pediatric cancer research and the children and families battling cancer.

Kids Beating Cancer raised over 1.2 million at the 2021 Hats & Heroes Ball at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando on September 25th, Defying the Odds and Let Cancer Go, raising the critically needed funds to bring discoveries for tomorrow’s cures, saving children’s lives today. This award-winning dynamic Gala evening featured a special live performance by the talented Idina Menzel, gourmet cuisine with open bar, exquisite silent and live auctions, and the outstanding community and pediatric Healing Heroes of Excellence Awards.

Talk of the Town Restaurant Group hosted its first annual Golf tournament benefiting Kids Beating Cancer and two other charities. The incredible tourney was sold out to 1044 golfers within days. This unique event with amazing sponsors had incredible food and drink showcasing the Talk of the Town Restaurant’s menu specialties and high end liquor sponsors! The amazing gourmet filet and lobster luncheon paired with incredible wines along with a silent auction of rare and vintage wines and liquors made this an exceptional event!

Kids Beating Cancer hosted its first annual Science is the Cure Research Symposium in Orlando at the conclusion of the Transplantation and Cellular Therapy (TCT) meetings of ASTCT & CIBMTR. 17 scientist from around the United States presented their research projects. At the conclusion, a independent Scientific Board of Advisors selected 3 recipients to receive Kids Beating Cancer’s $100,000 Pediatric Cancer Research grants.

Kids Beating Cancer, in partnership with Talk of The Town Restaurant Group participated in two fundraising events since 2018 to Save Children’s Lives! “Round Up for Charity,” raising over $40,000 in March 2019, during which restaurant patrons rounded up their check at all Talk of the Town restaurants to benefit the children Kids Beating Cancer serves.
During April through May 2019, Talk of the Town partners for a 6 week campaign, “John’s Challenge,” raised over $115,000 in 2019, in memory of our Founder’s son, John Voight. Ten teams of 10 participants competed to raise over $10,000 each to support children in need of life-saving stem cell transplantation at the Kids Beating Cancer Pediatric Transplant Center.
