ORLANDO, FLORIDA – Kids Beating Cancer is pleased to announce that the Round Up for Charity campaign in the month of March raised $94,683.82. Thomas Gearity, a local student from Osceola County, Florida was the main driving force behind that campaign raising over $94,000 for Kids Beating Cancer, an organization his family has been involved with for over 10 years.
Thomas was able to accomplish this task over the past four years, raising money through his work with 4-H and the Osceola County Livestock Show. He started his career in showing steers by going with his brother Gerard four years ago to McPeaks’ Be a Champ Camp.
Thomas raised steers and sold them at the Osceola County Livestock show over the past three years and finished 5th place overall. This allowed him to raise $5,000 after expenses.
In March 2023, Thomas was the main sponsor of the Round Up for Chairty Campaign hosted by Talk of The Town Restaurant Group.
Because of Thomas’ efforts and the money raised, Kids Beating Cancer can continue its mission of providing access to life-saving treatments and clinicals trials to children in Central Florida diagnosed with cancer.
Kids Beating Cancer was founded in 1992 with the mission to provide access to life-saving treatments to children diagnosed with cancer and fund pediatric cancer research, while supporting children and their families throughout the journey to a cure. Kids Beating Cancer has raised $29 million to fund life-saving programs for children and their families.
